Lesbians Rock

A Lesbian is a person who has exclusive Sapphic attraction

Who can identify as a Lesbian, and who can be included in Lesbian attraction?- Binary & Nonbinary women
- Female-aligned Nbys
case by case ones :- Feminine (non-female) aligned Nbys
- Unaligned and Neutral-aligned Nbys
- Xenine-aligned (Xenogender aligned) Nbys
- Masculine (non-male) aligned Nbys
- Transmasc, Transneu, and Transfem Nbys
- Those who simultaneously a mixture of anything above (eg. Multigender people)
- Those who fluctuates between a mixture of anything above (eg. Genderfluid and Genderflux people)
For further information see here

Not all non-male-aligned people will be comfortable being included in Lesbian, and Sapphic attraction in general. This is perfectly valid and okay, and forcing them to be included in our attraction is horribly disrespectful, and in many cases misgendering. If you're wondering if a non-male-aligned person (or an Nby in general) is comfortable with being included in Lesbian/Sapphic attraction, it's a good idea to ask them. If you're wondering how you can just ask if they consider themselves Sapphic/Include themself in Sapphic attraction. It's never okay to assume and base it on their gender expression, and especially not their AGAB.Another way to describe Lesbian attraction is "Sapphics who are not attracted to men/male-aligned people." Some Nonbinary Lesbians may describe themselves as Diamoric over Sapphic though.

Lesbian Slurs

TW // D slur & L slur/term

Dyke is a slur only Lesbians can reclaim. The main focus of the slur is to ridicule us for not being attracted to men. If you say it as a nonlesbian, you're Lesbiphobic, nonlesbians do not decide what is and what isn't Lesbiphobic. There is discussion on whether or not Dyke is AAVE. Many Black Lesbians have asked nb Lesbians to stop reclaiming this slur. It's up to nb Lesbians whether or not you reclaim this slur or not. Lesbo is also a lesbian-only term. It's not widely considered a slur, but it's still derogatory and clearly aimed towards Lesbians. Carrd here explains a bit more too.

Lesbian Flags

The main Lesbian flag is the 7 striped, Sunset flag by Emily Gwen. The stripes, in top to bottom order, stand for:
Gender nonconformity, Independence, Community, Unique relationships to womanhood, Serenity & Peace, Love & Sex, and Femininity.
The 5 striped version is our main one as well, and more popularized. (Which was made so people would have fewer colors to print.)Another version of this is the Pink/Femme Sunset flag. This is essentially the same flag, but the pink stripes from the Sunset flag (which derives from the lipstick flag) are replaced with stripes from the Femme Lesbian flag.Carrd here explains why we don't use the Labrys or Lipstick Lesbian flag anymore.

Compulsive Heterosexuality

Compulsive Heterosexuality, or better known as Comphet is "the idea that heterosexuality is assumed and enforced by a patriarchal and heteronormative society."
Comphet affects Lesbians exclusively.
Meaning it makes it harder for people to realize they're a Lesbian or causes one to have a fake attraction towards men. Lesbians who're actively going through this are completely valid, but it's important to try and work your way out of it. Carrd here explains more.
